FAQS

You can begin your claim right now by filling out the form on the website and giving us your name and contact details. One of our expert team will contact you to discuss your potential claim.

In the call we will ask you for a few more details such as:

  1. Address
  2. Tenancy start date
  3. Date your deposit was paid
  4. Amount of your deposit
  5. A copy of your tenancy agreement(s)

We will be able to tell you during the call if you have a potential claim against your landlord. If you are eligible and would like to go ahead with your claim, we will send you our paperwork which includes, our Client Care Letter, Conditional Fee Agreement, Form of Authority and Terms of Business. Once you have signed our paperwork and sent us a copy of your Tenancy Agreement, we will then prepare a Letter of Claim to your landlord. Your landlord will then have 21 days to respond. In most cases the Landlord admits that the deposit was not protected correctly and will try to negotiate settlement. However, in some cases Landlords choose not to respond. If that’s the case, we take the necessary steps to issue Court proceedings.

Your claim could be worth up to three times the value of the deposit you paidplus the return of your original deposit.

For example, if your deposit was £1,000, you could receive between £1,000 and £3,000 in compensation, plus your £1,000 deposit back. This means your total award could range from £2,000 to £4,000.

Want to find out if you’re eligible? Fill out our claim checker now to see if you could receive up to three times your deposit.

You can either complete the online form by clicking here or call our offices directly on 0800 158 8554

Yes, your landlord is required to return your deposit at the end of your tenancy, as long as you’ve followed all the terms of your rental agreement—such as paying rent on time and avoiding damage to the property. If there are any legitimate deductions, like unpaid rent or damage, your landlord may withhold part or all of your deposit.

Unsure if your landlord can make legitimate deductions? Fill out our claim checker now, and one of our expert solicitors will contact you to guide you through the next steps.
